      <image:title>Blog - Wolfdog Misrepresentation - Timber is one of the lucky ones….</image:title>
      <image:caption>Timber has lived the past 10 years with my brother. He is a part of their family, and loved beyond measure. Because Timber is not a high content wolfdog (or even a wolfdog at all), he was perfectly capable of and even desiring a companion animal type of lifestyle. Had the shelter staff not been able to recognize this misrepresentation of wolf content, Timber would have been robbed of the past 10 years of being a loved and valued member of a family.</image:caption>

Due to changing life circumstances, her owner came to realize he was not able to give her and her pack members the quality of life she truly deserved. As heartbreaking as it was for this owner to have to give her up, he was able to do a very unselfish thing and find her a new amazing chapter of her life to live.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>An example of registration papers of a misrepresented wolfdog. Continental Kennel Club (CKC) offers registration for purebred dogs, as well as mixed-breed and hybrid dogs. It's important to note that the CKC is considered a less strict or reputable registry compared to established kennel clubs like the American Kennel Club (AKC) or the United Kennel Club (UKC). This wolfdog is registered as a 90% wolf with no scientific evidence of this needing to be provided during registration. Based on a quick phenotype, there is no way this wolfdog is 90% wolf!</image:caption>

He climbed in overnight, but due to the overhangs was unable to escape on his own. It took some creativity, but we were able to send this cougar on its way home, safe and sound.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Why Wolf Content Matters! - Low Content</image:title>
      <image:caption>Low content wolfdogs are mainly dog with only a small amount of wolf content bred into them. This means the majority of their behaviours will come from whatever dog breed(s) is bred into them. Any wolf behaviours they inherit are usually expressed at a lower intensity. This means that if a low content wolfdog does inherit a fearfulness of humans for example, it will be less extreme and therefore easier to work through and improve upon than in a high content wolfdog for example.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/62f70c34b19866709b2d01dc/145145d2-4ae7-45c0-9362-60d1854d4260/high+content+2-1-3.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Blog - Why Wolf Content Matters! - High Content</image:title>
      <image:caption>High content wolfdogs are mainly wolf with only a very small amount of dog bred into them. This means that we are dealing with wolf behaviour; tame wolf behaviour, but wolf behaviour none the less. This presents a lot of very specific and difficult challenges that should be taken very seriously. All of a sudden we are dealing with an animal that has no resemblance to a companion animal. Their motivations and thought patterns are totally different than that of a dog and their needs are extensive.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/62f70c34b19866709b2d01dc/4a037a1f-3638-4236-bd81-210bd167f037/mid+content-1.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Blog - Why Wolf Content Matters! - Mid Content</image:title>
      <image:caption>Mid content wolfdogs have a considerable amount of wolf AND dog content bred into them. This means there can be a somewhat equal contribution of behaviours of whatever dog breed(s) is bred into them as well as wolf behaviours. The wolf behaviours they inherit can definitely be more intense and harder to influence. However, with mid content wolfdogs there is usually still enough dog genetics in order to build a solid companion animal relationship for those dedicated and experienced enough.</image:caption>
